Put this one in your diary!

Greyhounds in the Auckland area walk on the 3rd Sunday of each month. This month we’ll be meeting at Orewa's Te Ara Tahuna Estuary walkway for a leisurely stroll.

This walk hosted by Mary-Anne & Dolly, Carol & Silva, Natalie & Mae, thank you ladies!

Meet 8.30am at the large car park

(214 Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa, Estuary Arts Centre), at the start of Orewa's Te Ara Tahuna Estuary walkway.

There are public toilets, bins and seating at the start of the walkway.

This is an on-lead walk (4.4km), all flat, wide paths and grassed area. A couple of benches along the way for anyone who wants to take a break en route. At the picturesque turnaround point we will stop for a couple of group photos.

NOTE: this is a shared walkway with bicycles and mobility scooters, hence the early start before it gets too busy and hot. Please keep an eye out for bicycles and especially mobility scooters (and let them pass).

Please remember to bring poop bags, as well as water for your hounds, especially if it's a warm day.

Afterwards, join us at The Pines Cafe (244 Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa) for ice creams & Birthday Pupcakes to celebrate the 5th Birthday of the Jetsun siblings - Dolly (Jetsun Swan), Bonny (Jetsun Doll), Pi (Jetsun Paint), Aggy (Jetsun Agbeze), Jay (Jetsun Jaime) and all other houndies born in February.

If you and your GH's aren't too tired just walk 3 blocks up the road to the cafe, or you can drive up and park opposite the cafe in the very large car park near the Orewa Surf Life Saving Club.

If the walk is a little early, feel free to join us at the Pine's Cafe for ice creams & birthday celebrations around 10.30/11am! Great outdoor area for the hounds under the trees. Looking forward to having a great morning with you all.

We welcome ideas for our monthly adventures, so if you have a walk you’d like to share with other hounds and hoomans please let our Event Coordinators Mark & Carin know, we have 12 spots to fill every year!

We welcome all greyhounds and prospective adopters.  If you are considering adopting a greyhound please feel free to join us for a "pat and chat" session.
