For July's Tauranga walk, we will be joining a Tauranga City/Western Bay Council organised dog walk around Waipuna Park and Johnson Reserve. It gives us a chance to be seen by lots of dog lovers while enjoying a stroll in beautiful Johnson Reserve. There will be a coffee and drinks cart and also a shorter walk option for those who don't want to do the full hour. So hopefully we get lots of people to attend and show off our hounds.
Note that this kicks off at 10am! Meet at the big carpark near the sports fields on the left when going up Kaitemako Road.
Here is also the details from the council:
Tauranga City Council is teaming up with Western Bay Wander Dogs to bring dog lovers from across the sub-region together on a fun, friendly and relaxed dog walk. The walk will depart at 10am from the Waipuna Park car park, along Johnson Reserve and loop back to the car park. It is expected to take approximately one hour at a comfortable pace. For the less able, or those with strollers or wheelchairs, a second walk around the sports fields will be available. There will also be opportunities to get advice from animal services staff, as well as the chance to get to know other dog lovers, while having fun with your dog outdoors. Plus, The Coffee Wagon will be there serving hot and cold drinks. All owners are responsible for their own dogs, and that includes having your dog on a leash and bags to pick up after your pooch.
