Our Adoption Days give you the chance to meet several adoptable greyhounds all at once in one location. Our knowledgable team will be on hand to take you through each introduction and assist you in discovering which houndy is the best fit for your home and family. If you're just greyhound curious, our team are happy to chat!

Greyhounds are one of the worlds oldest breeds of dogs. They are loving, friendly, and gentle dogs that suit all kinds of lifestyles. Rated the second best "apartment dog" they are the perfect breed for apartment and townhouse dwellers; though they are also well suited to life style blocks, and farm living. Greyhounds have even been known to happily live on sail boats, travelling the globe on the waves and stretching their long legs on remote beaches. They truely are one of the worlds most laid back and adaptable pets.
Greyhounds As Pets is New Zealand’s oldest and largest rehoming agency. We have been match making greyhounds into families for 18 years and have helped over 4000 greyhounds make the transition from the racing kennels to pet life. We can't wait to introduce you to your heart dog, couch cuddler and adventure buddy.
Are you able to help out on the day? We’re looking for volunteers to help GAP staff handle the greyhounds and make sure they have their needs met. You’ll be paired with an adoptable greyhound to look after for a 2 hour time slot. We would prefer if you didn’t bring your own greyhound to this event, sorry! If possible we recommend bringing a chair and plenty of water for yourself. If you’re keen to help out please register *here* Your A&P Show entry will be provided.
