Susie
This is Susie. She's 2 years old.
Susie is a very timid/ nervous girl, she does try hard to be brave but new situations and people are a bit daunting. She likes a safe space to retreat to at home, coming out now and again to see if your still about. Occasionally she will join the other Greyhounds in the living area of the house but does like to be in a quieter area generally. She is engaging more though and will come for pats and likes a neck scratch. She is very excited when her foster parents come home after being out, greets you at the door with a waggy tail.
She is enjoying getting out for walks but it has taken time. She can be uncertain in new places, generally she is good in quiet areas but big parks and open spaces are intimidating - she will head back to the car!
She travels well in the car, jumps in and out and settles quickly when going on a journey.
She is wary of people especially children and males. She will pull away from them if out and try to get her distance.
She is eating up well but does keep an eye on her surroundings. If you move about she will stop eating and go into another room. She likes you to stay put while she is eating!
She is a little growly with other dogs at home occasionally . She has improved greatly from when she first arrived with us but if she is on a bed and another dogs comes close she will at times have a little warning growl.
She has been amazing with toilet training, no accidents inside. She has a strong bladder at times!
She will need a home that is quieter with no young children, possibly be ok with teenagers but doesn’t like noise! She will need a lot of time and patience to help her adjust to life out of kennels as the transition has been huge for her.
She does have a cheeky side that occasionally comes out and you can see she is keen to engage.
She is a really lovely wee girl, I think with time and patience she will find her brave girl pants ❤️
