Izzy

Irresistible Izzy is a special gal who has spent the last 2 months in foster and is now seeking her own digs - could that be with you? Initially she is a sensitive soul but it doesn't take long for her to be little impish once she feels at home.

Izzy's favourite things to do:

Training and enrichment games: Izzy LOVES to learn and it does wonders for her confidence, she comes alive with a big grin on her face, waggy tail, and bright eyes. She knows her name and has the foundations of a decent recall, a hand target, chin target. She likes food dispensing puzzle toys or snuffling for treats hidden in the grass or in carboard. She likes going for walks on a long lead in quiet, green places where she can sniff to her heart's content.

Lounging: she's a low energy creature and is happy to snooze the day away, she doesn't need walks daily and will supervise while you tap away on the computer, do yoga, curl up to read, or watch Netflix. She's okay holding down the fort if you have to run errands or pop out for work.

Playing: 7am is time for morning zooms; she'll bound around asking you to play and will turn into a hooligan for all of 5 minutes before breakfast and back to bed.

What Izzy would like from you:

Patience: for the first month it is crucial that she has plenty of time to decompress in a new home without meeting many new people, dogs, or going to new places. She's still figuring out this whole pet business after being a race dog - she needs time just hanging out getting to know you before jumping into doing much else.

Ideally, to be the only child: she is currently living at foster with an older male and female greyhound and a younger male pitbull. She has met dogs of all shapes and sizes, however, she can give or take the company of other dogs and would rather be your sole sidekick. We think Izzy would be happiest in a home without kids.

Confidence: Izzy isn't the most confident of creatures, she needs to know that you've got it under control and know what you're doing so she can feel safe, sit back and enjoy the ride. Perhaps you have had dogs beforehand or a have an interest in learning about training?
