Cat Trainable
Looking to Adopt a Greyhound Who Can Live with Cats?
You’re in the right place!
Greyhounds who are assessed as cat trainable are in high demand. In fact, they’re often adopted so quickly that many never even make it to our website before starting their journey of learning to live peacefully alongside feline family members.
It’s important to understand what cat trainable really means. These dogs have been assessed as having a low prey drive, which gives them the potential to learn how to safely and respectfully coexist with cats. However, this does not mean they can immediately live with a cat without any training or supervision.
Training a Greyhound to live with cats is a gradual process that can take several months of consistent effort. It requires patience, supervision, and a commitment to ongoing training. We strongly encourage you to do your research beforehand to ensure you're prepared and confident in your ability to support both your Greyhound and your cat through this transition.
If you already have a cat at home and would like to adopt a Greyhound, please complete our adoption application form on the website. One of our local rehomers will then get in touch to explain the process in more detail, answer any questions you may have, and help set you up for success.
