Update on Silver (Silvereen)

Silver has been with us for six months now, and is completely one of the family. She has a very happy, affectionate nature, and always wants to be part of whatever's happening. She never tires of watching me in the garden and is my most constant companion of the three dogs. Her trainer

taught her to put her paws up on his shoulders for cuddles, and she delights in doing this with me.

She's passed grade one obedience classes and we'll continue on to grade two. Her foster carers did a brilliant job teaching her things like 'on your bed', and she settled quickly into her new home. She steadily progressed to recalling to me and being able to join the other two off-lead, and she's usually the most active of the three when they're off-lead.

Mynx and Silver

I know people sometimes debate whether litter-mates remember each other. I think that she and Mynx do, because they were both hopeless racers and Mynx has always avoided any physical contact when running with other hounds. However the sisters race along side-by-side, shoulder checking each other and matching each other stride for stride, and at home they always have an eye on each other and one simply has to do whatever the other does.

I never thought I would end up with three greyhounds, but I fell for Silver's photo on the website and her description sounded like a really good match for us. Danielle at GAP agreed we were onto a winner and she would be a wonderful dog for us. Finding out during the adoption process that she was a litter-sister to Mynx was the icing on the cake - maybe something in her photo had registered with me subconsciously??

Kind regards

Sally
