Update on Rihanna (Ruby - Cherry Tree Lane)

This beautiful blue brindle bundle of bounce came into our lives in August after my partner Tom decided we should get a mate for our existing girl and wanted one this colour and female.  We were told to get a male mate as they got along better, but we have had no problems at all with these two. We have Beyoncé (the beautiful fawn in the picture above), so had to call her Rihanna. The delectable duo !

The Y Shape

Riha settled in quite quickly although apprehensive and a little timid at first, but having another girl there to help settle her was what she needed.  I really feel that she would not have fitted in very well on her own.  She is very exuberant first thing in the morning and Tom has to go outside and have a play and a brush, otherwise she races around the house like a tornado. She respects the cats, ignores the chooks, does not like the horses or cows, and is wary of other breeds of dogs, especially smaller ones.    She is extremely playful, loves her squeekies, quite chatty at times,  does a great Y shape in her beanbag and overall keeps us oldies amused and on our toes.

Beach Life!

Now she has come into her own, is a real social butterfly and welcomes everyone who comes to visit.  She is obedient and learnt her name very quickly, just loves going out and hangs out the windows.  The beach is just the best.  We have regular playdates at Waihi Beach with Zena.    As we live on a lifestyle block she has plenty of room to do her zoomies.

She has been accepted as an Outreach Therapy Pet and enjoys going to the local hospital and rest home to meet the residents.  Hounds are the right height for beds, chairs and wheelchairs.  She has been to A & P Shows, Expo, large events and has taken them all very well and calmly. Only the bagpipes upset her, but any other music does not bother her even when Beyonce sings. :-)
