Update on Jess (Okuku Star)

Check out how well Jess (Okuku Star) is settling into her new home!
Jess has settled into her new home so well and is gradually picking up all she needs to know about being a pet. She learnt all about stairs and glass doors on the first day (a bit of masking tape across the door soon convinced her she couldn't just barrel on through!) and loves going out on walks with her big brother Murphy (our 9yo chocolate Labrador).  The two dogs are even slowly learning to share a sleeping space (i.e. our bed), something Jess wasn't so sure about at first but is doing much better with now. She has also started obedience classes and is trying to come to terms with the rather unnatural (for a greyhound) command of "sit" - she tries really hard to please but I don't think we'll be entering her in any obedience competitions any time soon! The only thing she isn't so keen on is loud movies through the surround sound system - we have had to moderate the volume a bit to keep our sensitive wee girl happy.
We love her to bits already and our friends and family can't believe how gentle and calm she is (particularly after patting Murphy who, being a Labrador, is anything but gentle!). Thanks again to Danielle for matching us with Jess and to Sonja and Irene for caring for her so well at the kennels and being so helpful with advice. Big thanks also to Jess's trainers for putting her into the GAP programme and assuring her a happy retirement.

Cheers, Paula and Chris (and Murphy)
