Sneak Preview of our Hound Parade

This year we made our National Appeal even more exciting by giving the week a fashion theme! We were inspired by the Trussardi hounds and, as we know our owners love dressing their dogs up, we decided to run a fashion competition!

We've received some absolutely adorable photos which we can't resist sharing with you. The competition is still running, so if you're inspired then get your camera out and raid your wardrobe this weekend!

The competition is simple. Send us a photo of your hound looking like they've walked out of Vogue and the best image wins a bottle of bubbly!

We even have some fashion experts judging the competition, with the winner being chosen by a member of Annah Stretton's team.

Our favourite fashionistas will be featured on Facebook and, if suitable, will be used as designs on a new set of blank greeting cards.

Competition rules are as follows:

Entries need to be in by Sunday 9th March.
Winner will be announced on Friday 14th March.
New Zealand greyhounds only.
GAP reserves the right to use image entries to promote greyhounds.
And please high resolution photos only.

Top Tips for taking photos!

Get down to your hound's level - yes that means getting on your knees!
Check out what is behind your hound. No washing please, that nice green foliage will work best.
Get the sun, or other light source, behind you. Black dogs are hardest to photograph in bright light so wait until the evening.
Try lots of different positions and angles - make it fun for your hound with treats and playtime in between.

Thanks go to Kelly Wolfe photography for the photos of Havoc (Beatrix Kiddo) above, Snozz below and Eddy (Edward Cullen in HA) and photos of our Karapiro hounds on WNH. We strongly recommend you check out her website!

Kelly says, "I'm so excited to have the opportunity to work with GAP photographing dogs in the Waikato area. If you'd like to keep up with my work and the latest Greyhound shoots I've been involved with, 'like' my Facebook page. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you!"

Snozz (Flyin' Shifty) goes for the gentlehound around town look.
