Introducing our new Wellington Event Coordinator!

"Hi everyone! My name's Teresa and I'm originally from Spain, but have been living in NZ for almost 10 years now. I've always loved dogs - the bigger, the better. My first contact with greyhounds, or rather, galgos, was years ago when I volunteered in Scooby, a galgo refuge back home.

I always thought they were adoringly cute but having grown up with a boxer and two shepherd crosses, galgos seemed too delicate and fragile to me! When we moved to NZ we were renting so we started with cats, but I couldn't wait to get a dog again. When we finally bought a house I somehow managed to convince my husband to consider a dog, and we started researching low-allergy breeds since he's allergic. I was very surprised when I read that greyhounds are a great low-allergy option!

That kinda sealed the deal and we were paired with Frosty, a wonderful brindle that is funny, loving, sweet, stubborn and quirky in equal parts, and to top it all off, couldn't care less about our two cats! She really is all we could have hoped for and more. She's always enjoyed participating in GAP events so I thought I could take it a step further and become the new volunteer coordinator for the Wellington region. Some of you might already know us from previous events, and I can't wait to meet the rest of you!"
