The BoP Gap Family is Growing!!

GAP is rocking the Bay of Plenty!

For the first time on the 11th January, Greyhounds as Pets had a stand at the Paeroa A & P show.

Paeroa A&P Show

It's a country show that mostly focuses on horses, but don't we all know that horses and dogs go together? We met some lovely people, including some potential foster carers and forever homes!

Many of the same volunteer owners and friends came along the very next weekend to the Tauranga A & P show! The Bay of Plenty GAP family is growing very rapidly, and received additional support from hounds and their people from Hamilton, Morrinsville, and Auckland. The stand stayed busy all day, and we have had several more people who are considering giving a forever home to one of our beautiful athletes.

Area Co-ordinator Jan Curran did a superb job organising a 'Pooch Parade'! She did a wonderful

job making the rosettes, organising the certificates and making up bags of goodies. It was really fun for organisers and contestants alike, and since everyone won a prize there were some thrilled owners, especially the children!!  The charismatic Alan Sole from Athenree was the Judge and announcer. Thanks so much Alan - you made the event exciting for everyone! We are also very grateful for the generous sponsorship of Stefan Walthers from Myvet at the Whangamata Animal Hospital. Stefan is a greyt supporter of greyhounds, and donated neat little rubber collapsible water bowls plus the dog blanket for top prize (check out his online animal medical supplies - you'll get wonderful value there!).

Talking to Perspective New Owners

We have a list of the volunteers who have helped to make the last two weekends so successful - you'll be impressed by the sheer number of them, and the immense goodwill and just plain fun we have shared!
