Solo

Hello all! I now live in Coromandel with my new Mum and Dad, and am loving my new life! I have my own Blog too - please come and have a look (and update your bookmarks!!!). Here is the link: http://awordfromsolo.wordpress.com/
Solo has been with us since January 2012, and each day with him has been pure joy. There was never really any ‘settling-in’ period – from the first day we started the long journey home from Sanson, it felt as if he’d been with us forever. Overnighting in Rotorua, Solo was completely at home with us in the dog-friendly motel, and he settled straight in once we were home, after testing all the beds and settees for comfort.
If Solo has any bad habits, we haven’t discovered them yet! Mind you, he did sneak into the kitchen once and steal two full cartons of eggs off the kitchen counter. Then he carried them carefully outside and proceeded to eat the eggs out of the carton. He left us just two unbroken eggs – enough for breakfast!
Solo will half-heartedly chase pukeko out of the garden, but he ignores the chooks we meet out on our walks. We saw some wild turkeys in the paddock the other day, and he didn’t know what to make of them. He loves to zoom round the garden every day before his morning and evening walks, but once in the house, he always likes to be wherever we are.
He is the perfect hound for us, and we love him to bits. We couldn’t imagine our lives without him – he is loving and funny and trusting. Solo is the happiest hound in the world. He approaches everything with wonder, and now we see the world through his eyes – and it’s a pretty exciting place!
