Update on Abbey (Know Fun)

We've now had Abbey with us for three months and boy has she slotted into the family perfectly! She's always keen for a play, walk or cuddle when you need one, and her gentle, loving nature is not only the talk of the family (my mum will not stop advertising her to everyone she meets), but she also captures a LOT of attention around Dunedin, with people always stopping us when we're out for a walk to tell me how beautiful she is and ask questions about the breed.

She's now learned to sit, a trick she's learned often results in treats and she really is milking it!

Although initially quite frightened of my cat Milo, Abbey is now willing to walk within a meter of her, when she would previously whine until I moved the cat so she could walk passed.  She's also a bit of a spoiled fashionista with probably the largest collection of toys, coats, and pjs of any greyhound in the world!

Just this week we had a bit of a scare, when an xray of her leg had led the vet to believe she might have bone cancer. We were crushed. And it really proved to us just how fast you can fall in love with a greyhound because after only 3 months I couldn't bear to imagine life without her.  Thankfully since then a specialist has seen the xrays and believes what was originally thought to be cancer is actually nothing sinister. So hopefully with some rest, her next xray in a month will show our monkey is completely fit and healthy.

Thanks so much GAP for giving us the most beautiful, loving, fur-baby in the world! Couldn't have asked for anything better!
